About the Foundation

Rooted in Ondo. Reaching the world.

Layole Dhakiki Foundation was born from a daughter's love for her community — and a diaspora promise that no child, widow, or family in Southwest Nigeria walks alone.

Our Vision

A Southwest Nigeria where every child has access to education, every widow has dignity, and every family in crisis has a community that responds.

Our Mission

To improve the lives of less privileged school children, vulnerable adults, widows, and disadvantaged families through education support, community outreach, empowerment programs, healthcare assistance, and humanitarian aid.

Our Story

Founded by Kikelomo Shodiya, a Houston-based Nigerian philanthropist with deep roots in Ondo State, Layole Dhakiki is the bridge between the diaspora's generosity and the day-to-day needs of her home communities.

Kikelomo Shodiya

Founder & Executive Director

"Giving back isn't just a duty; it's a reflection of the love we share for our roots, our people, and the next generation."

Kikelomo Shodiya is a Houston, Texas-based Nigerian philanthropist originally from Ondo State, Nigeria. Born into the Akinnola family, she is a Registered Nurse by profession who began her nursing career in Brooklyn, New York, before relocating to Texas — where she has continued to build a life of service, leadership, and care for others.

She is a respected member of the Elegant Women Association of Nigeria, Ondo Township Chapter — a community of accomplished women dedicated to philanthropy, culture, and excellence. Through that affiliation and her own foundation, she channels diaspora resources directly to the women, widows, and children who need them most.

The Layole Dhakiki Foundation was founded in loving memory of her late mother, Senior Lady Leader Funmilayo Layole Akinnola — a woman whose compassion, leadership, and devotion to her community continue to inspire every life this foundation touches. It is Kikelomo's enduring promise that her mother's legacy of love lives on, and that distance is no barrier to giving back.
